Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Northern Circuit Orientation Experience
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha, Tanzania’s safari capital. This first day is intentionally relaxed, allowing recovery from international travel while enjoying views of Mount Meru and lush highland surroundings. Your guide introduces Tanzania’s geography, safari etiquette, wildlife behavior basics, and the logic behind the four safari circuits you will explore.
Main Destination: Arusha
Accommodation: Arusha Planet Lodge
Accommodation: Arusha Planet Lodge
Day 2: Tarangire NP
Tarangire introduces the safari with vast savannahs dotted by ancient baobab trees. The Tarangire River acts as a magnet for wildlife, particularly large elephant herds. Game drives focus on understanding how water availability shapes animal movement and predator concentration. You will be taken to your accommodation after your game drive.
Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge
Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge
Day 3 & 4: Tarangire to Ngorongoro crater - Volcanic Highlands to The Endless Plains of Africa
The journey climbs into volcanic highlands before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most wildlife-dense places in Africa. The enclosed ecosystem allows close observation of predator-prey dynamics, conservation challenges, and species coexistence. As the sun sets you will ascend for overnight.
Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater
Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge
Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge
Day 5 & 6: Serengeti National Park – Migration & Predator Behavior / From Endless Plains to Remote "True Wilderness"
A full day in the Serengeti gives you time to explore properly, not just "drive through." Start with an early morning game drive when predators are still active and the plains are cool, perfect for tracking lion prides, cheetah movement, and the way herbivores gather and shift with the light. After a relaxed lunch and short rest at camp, head back out for an afternoon game drive to follow animal movement patterns, watch hunting behavior when opportunities rise, and focus on seasonal highlights such as riverine areas, kopjes, and (when timing is right) sections of the Great Migration. As the sun drops, the scenery turns golden and sightings often peak again before returning to camp for dinner and a calm evening under the stars.
Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camp
Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camps - Central Serengeti Simba
Day 7, 8 & 9: Full Day Katavi National Park - Deep-Wilderness Game Drives
Start with a dawn game drive when Katavi is cool, quiet, and at its wildest. Your guide follows fresh tracks and movement from the night, scanning plains and riverbeds for predators finishing hunts, lions settling in the soft light, and elephants moving toward water before the heat builds. Late morning, enjoy a bush tea/brunch break to recharge and reset, then continue with a relaxed afternoon drive focused on shaded zones and water points, where hippo pools, elephant gatherings, and sudden predator moments often unfold. As sunset approaches, the light turns golden and wildlife becomes active again, before returning to camp for a shower, dinner, and a peaceful night under the sounds of the bush.
Main Destination: Katavi National Park
Accommodation: Chada Katavi
Day 10 & 11: Full Day in Ruaha National Park — Southern Circuit Wilderness Game Drives
Ruaha rewards travelers who give it time; the park feels raw and powerful, with wide open spaces, ancient baobabs, rugged river systems, and far fewer vehicles than the northern circuit. Today is a true safari day: an early start and long, unhurried drives that let you follow wildlife stories instead of rushing between sightings. Head out at dawn in prime predator hours, focusing on riverbeds, seasonal streams, and open plains where tracks are fresh and lions, elephants, and plains game are most active. Take the "energy protection" window for lunch and rest back at camp, then return for a late drive as the heat fades and animals move again, finishing in golden hour before returning to camp after sunset.
Main Destination: Ruaha National Park
Accommodation: Ruaha River Lodge
Day 12: Full Day in Nyerere National Park (Selous)
You'll wake up while the air is still cool and the bush is quiet, then head straight into Nyerere's wide, wild landscapes for an early morning game drive. This is when the park feels most alive: lions finishing their night movement, hyenas slipping back into cover, and elephants crossing open plains before the heat arrives. Your guide will work the river edges, floodplains, and woodland tracks. Return to camp for a proper lunch and rest. In the afternoon, choose between a game drive or a boat safari on the river watching hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible parade of birds.
Main Destination: Nyerere National Park
Accommodation: Selous Impala Lodge
Day 13: Nyerere National Park → Zanzibar (Stone Town) — Bush to Ocean, Smoothly
Wake up early and have your breakfast at camp, then depart for the airstrip for your check-in. Your scheduled bush flight takes off late morning and connects via Dar es Salaam before landing in Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer to Stone Town, check in, and enjoy lunch. After a short rest, head out at 16:30 for an easy Stone Town stroll (carved doors, narrow alleys, spice-scented corners, and the waterfront). Finish the day with sunset followed by dinner.
Main Destination: Zanzibar (Stone Town)
Accommodation: Tembo House Hotel
Day 14: Zanzibar → JRO → Flight Back Home (Fly-Out Day)
Start with an early but gentle routine, breakfast, and a quick checkout before heading to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ). Board your direct flight to JRO. Proceed through security and immigration, settle at the gate, and board your flight back home.
Main Destination: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
